Note to self – don’t leave heavy balls of iron in the car overnight in single-digit temps. Makes for a tough hotel room workout when your hands slip and freeze to the handles. Had to stick them in front of the heater to defrost.

Frosty-Kettlebell-2I’d checked out the hotel workout room and it was pretty pathetic. Nothing but a small treadmill, an exercise bike, and a multi-gym.

Oh, and a few little “pink” dumbbells.

I’d called the hotel the night before we checked in to get the scoop on what they had and the admittedly unknowledgeable girl said they had some hand weights.

Needless to say I went back to my room and waited patiently for my kettlebells to thaw out. Once that was done I did a quick Simple and Sinister workout. I’d done the 16kg kettlebell portion in the 5:00 time limit during my last hotel stay earlier this month so I figured I’d move up to 24kg one-arm swings.

I didn’t want to push it since it was just a free day workout so I set my Tabata app for 10 rounds of :15 on and :30 rest and was easily able to do them. Then I finished it off with a round of TGU and called it a workout.

My wife “tried” to snap some iPhone pics while I was doing swings but they didn’t turn out that great.
